- The KFC Royale is for PlayStation 4 users only
- Participants must be at least 18 years old
- Participants must enter their PlayStation Network Online ID on the tournament website
- Anyone that has competed at a CWL offline event in Black Ops 4 (Las Vegas), including coaches are not permitted to enter any qualifier
- Every participant must be citizen, or be a resident of the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland at least since since June 1st, 2018
- Everyone may participate in up to 8 out of the 16 qualifiers in the Qualifier Stage
- Match mode is 1v1 format using "Solos in Quads" in normal matchmaking for the Qualifier Stage and 2v2 format using "Duos in Quads" in normal matchmaking for the Grand Finals
- Intentionally damaging or killing team mates is strictly forbidden
- Each qualifier has a Single Elimination Bracket with 128 participants. An unlimited amount of participants can sign up to each qualifier - then the first 128 participants to check in from 30 minutes before each qualifier will be eligible to play. For further details please check our guide

1. General Rules
KFC Royale is a community tournament for the PlayStation 4 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (henceforth CoD) only. The game mode BlackOut will be used throughout the entire competition. KFC Royale is limited to participants from the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland, as described in rule 1.3.1. The official tournament website for the KFC Royale is www.kfcroyale.com.
1.2.1 Everybody who is authorized by Kairos Media or Kentucky Fried Chicken to administrate the KFC Royale based on its rules and regulations will be called an "admin" in the following, the collection of all admins will be called the "administration".
1.2.2 The interpretation of any rule and its consequences and execution are at the sole discretion of the administration.
1.3 Participants and Commitment
1.3.1 Only real persons with a valid PlayStation Network Online ID are allowed to participate in the KFC Royale and will be called "participant" in the following. Additionally every participant must fulfill the following conditions:
- Participants must not have a ban on the GameSports network for the time of the qualifiers.
- At the time of the start of a qualifier participants must be at least 18 years old.
- Participants must be citizen, or be a resident of the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland at least since since June 1st, 2018 without interruption.
- Participants, that have competed as a player or coach in Black Ops 4 (Las Vegas) at a CW offline event, are not permitted to enter any qualifier.
- Employees of Freaks 4U Gaming, Kairos Media, Kentucky Fried Chicken or Activision Blizzard, who are in any way related to KFC Royale, are not permitted to participate.
1.3.2 By participating in the KFC Royale participants acknowledge without limitation to comply with the rules and regulations and with the statements and decisions made by the administration.
1.3.3 Every participant acknowledges the right for the administration to modify the rules and regulations for adjustments at any time without notice and if necessary overrule those to ensure fair play and integrity throughout each season.
1.3.4 Every participant has to show the needed respect towards admins and other participants. Insults and unfair or disrespectful behaviour towards anyone are not tolerated and will be punished.
1.3.5 Every participant must always have the newest version of PlayStation Network and CoD installed and has to check for updates in time before each match. Unless a new version comes out right before the match, patching is not a valid reason to delay it.
1.3.6 Every participant must be registered on the official tournament website and have their correct PlayStation Network Online ID entered. The "How To" Guide does also explain this process.
1.3.7 Every participant has to try to win every round at every stage of the KFC Royale. Purposefully losing for any reason is strictly forbidden.
1.3.8 Vulgar, racist, sexist or otherwise offensive participants names are forbidden. Names with deliberately changed size and format are also not permitted.
1.3.9 Every participant acknowledges the right for the administration to edit participants’ names if names are deemed unfit for display.
1.3.10 Every participant in the KFC Royal tournament consents to the collected footage of photo- and audio material displaying or voicing them during the tournament to be stored and used for announcements, website content and other publications by Freaks 4U Gaming, Kairos Media, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Activision Blizzard unrestricted and unlimited in terms of time and place.
1.4.1 All communication between participants and the administration has to be held in English at any time and at any stage of the KFC Royale.
1.4.2 The administration may only be contacted via support tickets. This helps admins to coordinate as a team and work faster on issues than with the help of other platforms. Any other form of communication may be ignored.
2. Format & Schedule
2.1 Tournament Format
The KFC Royale is separated into the Qualifier Stage and the Grand Finals, starting on and scheduled to end on 2019-02-24. The first three of the 16 qualifiers in the Qualifier Stage are run as a Single Elimination Bracket with up to 64 participants. The remaining qualifiers within the Qualifier Stage are run as a Single Elimination Bracket with up to 128 participants. The one winner of each qualifier will advance to the Grand Finals. The format of the Grand Finals will be announced at a later date.
2.2 Signup & Check in
An unlimited amount of participants can sign up to each qualifier. Before the first three qualifiers the first 64 participants to check in will be eligible to play. In the remaining qualifiers the first 128 participants to check in will be eligible to play. The check in always starts 30 minutes before the scheduled start of the respective qualifier.

2.4 Tournament Restrictions
Each participant may participate in up to 8 out of the 16 qualifiers in the Qualifier Stage. If a participant wins a qualifier, they are not permitted to play any upcoming qualifiers within the Qualifier Stage.
3. Match Times
3.1 Match Times
3.1.1 The first round of each qualifier in the Qualifier Stage is set for on the respective tournament day. The official match times for the following matches are:
- Round of 64:
- Round of 32:
- Round of 16:
- Round of 8:
- Semi Final:
3.1.2 In case the number of participants decreases the bracket size, the times will be adjusted accordingly and announced on the qualifier page.
3.1.3 If at least one participant of a match has not yet been determined at the official match time due to a delay in a previous round, the match time will be adjusted accordingly.
3.2 Rescheduling / Postponing
Participants cannot postpone or reschedule matches to another date or time without the consent of the administration.
3.3.1 If one participant is not ready to start a match 15 minutes after the official match time, this participant loses the match by default.
3.3.2 If a participant does not join the match in time as described in 3.3.1., the opponent may claim a default win by writing a support ticket. Each participant is obliged to attach necessary evidence to the claim, which is then to be approved of by an admin. Admins may extend the punctuality deadline in exceptional circumstances to get the match played.
4. Before the match
All participants must be available in CoD and on the tournament website, as long as they are actively participating in each qualifier.
4.2 Contacting the opponent
Once a participant knows their opponent, they must add their opponent on the PlayStation Network immediately. The PlayStation Network Online ID of the opponent can be found on their participant profile. Both participants are obliged to check the opponent's identity prior to the start of the match.
4.3 Match mode
4.3.1 In the Qualifier Stage, each 1v1 match must be played as "Solo in Quads". For this, participants must form a quad with the participant they are matched with and then queue for matchmaking with the "Fill squad" option disabled. In case one of the official broadcasters of the tournament joins the match, the broadcaster must be invited and then queue for matchmaking with the "Fill squad" option disabled. The broadcaster must not impact the match of the two participants. The match ends when either both participants die ingame or at least one of them stays alive until the end of the game.
4.3.2 In the Grand Finals, each match must be played as "Duos in quads". For that participants must form a quad and then queue for matchmaking. The match ends when either all four participants die ingame or at least one of them stays alive until the end of the game.
4.4 Score metrics
4.4.1 Each match is decided by a list of score metrics as described in rules 4.4.2 and 4.4.3. The first point in these lists decides the match. If both parties are tied in this point, the following point becomes the decider and so forth.
4.4.2 In the Qualifier Stage the winner of a match is determined as follows:
- Most kills in the game
- Highest damage in the game
- Longest range kill in the game
4.4.3 In the Grand Finals the winner of a match is determined as follows:
- Most combined kills of a duo in the game
- Highest combined damage of a duo in the game
- Most kills of a single participant within a duo in the game
- Highest damage of a single participant within a duo in the game
- Longest range kill in the game
In case a winner can't be determined by this metric, the match has to be replayed immediately. This includes when all participants die ingame without dealing any damage.
5. During the match
If a participant disconnects before a single participant is dropped on the map, the match must be replayed. All participants must leave the current match immediately and queue for another match. If a participant disconnects, after at least one of them dropped on the ground, the game must continue.
Intentionally damaging, injuring or killing a team mate is strictly forbidden.
5.3 Bug Abuse
Abusing a bug is strictly forbidden.
The usage of any CoD related tool aside from the PlayStation Network during a match is strictly forbidden.
Every participant must save their own replays of all tournament games for at least seven (7) days. Upon request by an admin, each participant must submit the replay to the administration within 24 hours. Failing to comply with this request may result in punishment.
6. After the match
6.1 Reporting the score
Each participant must enter the correct result on the respective match page immediately after the match has finished. In case one participant does report no score or a wrong score, the other participant must write a support ticket as soon as possible and provide evidence for the result of the match. If neither participant report the same correct score within 60 minutes of the start of the match, the administration may close the match without a winner.
Protest against any other sort of rule violation by another participant can only be reported with screenshots or videos of the action. The protest must include a specific timestamp when the violation took place, the name of the participant who committed the violation, as well as a clear description of what happened. Protests that either lack a screenshot, video or details such as timestamp and description will be discarded. The protest has to be filed via support ticket and not later than 15 minutes after the match has finished.
7. Rule Violation and Punishment
7.1 Possible Punishments
The punishment for any rule violation includes but is not limited to:
- Loss of one match
- Disqualification from the qualifier
- Disqualification from the tournament series
- Disqualification from future tournaments
- Prize Money Reduction
7.2 Rule Violation in other Tournaments
Freaks 4U Gaming reserves its right to punish participants for heavy rule violations in external CoD tournaments.
The prizes of each qualifier are as follows:
- 1st: £800
- 2nd: £400
- 3rd - 4th: £100
8.2 Grand Finals
The prizes of the Grand Finals are as follows:
- 1st: £15,000
- 2nd: £7,500
- 3rd: £3,500
- 4th: £1,600
8.3 Payment details
Participants, who win prizes according to rules 8.1 and 8.2, are required to send a proof of valid claim to firstname.lastname@example.org. The prize will be fulfilled within 60 or 90 days of a verified win, assuming KairosMedia supplies the prize money to Freaks 4U Gaming in time. Freaks 4U Gaming will assist in the process and send out templates to each prize winner for them to fill out.
